First lectureday

Thursday was my first lecture day of the course 'Digital Radiography' here in Copenhagen. The day started at 8.30AM. For today there were 6 lectures on the program, with different subject about the CR-technique. The lectures started with the basic principles of Computed Radiography. The first lecture was about the different image materials where the pictures are taken with. Especially about the different cassettes, the way they are build (physics) and how x-rayfotons will be convert in a digital signal. There was also a lecture about the image reading for especially Phosphor-plates. After those basics, there was a lecture about Histogram-analyses, how is a digital image build up, and also about the criteria for a good image. The next topic was about the enhancing of the images, what the computer will do, what can I do myself to get a better image, and of course, how can I fake the computer system... The last topic of today was about signal-noise-resolutions, and how I can get a better image quality when I have used a low or high exposure. Especially about increasing the noise and enhancing the signal and contours.
Tomorrow (Friday) we have a new lecture day, with topics about Flat Panel systems, PACS&RIS-communication, image storing and DICOM-systems. Its al about ICT, not my favourite subject, but these subjects are interesting.
Next week Monday en Tuesday we have also lectures, Monday about CR-techniques and Tuesday about DX-technology. So, I have 4 days behind each other with lectures from 8.30 AM till 2.45 PM, with each hour a break of 10-15 minutes. After next week Tuesday we have a lecture break until Wednesday the 20th. In that time we are going to work on our assignment. We have to write about a specific subject in comparison whit Digital Radiography. It has to be a story of 7 till 8 pages, and it had to be ready at 27th of September. Friday the 29th we will present our assignment to the other groups, the tutors, and other people from practice.
It was a good first lecture day, the subject is educational and I have learnt a lot this fist day.
